Were you not even asked to pose for the calendar Shirley? :-D

I must say, I've left a couple of craft groups on the verge of tears because they have been so unwelcoming and cliquey.

Nope think I was too young for them and they knew I would outshine them as a calendar girl lol ;-)

I was much slimmer then too :-(

So why are some women so unfriendly?

Could it be that they have dedicated too much of their lives to home and family and forgotten how to communicate as individuals?

Thought it would be obvious Island... If all the group were one big happy friendly bunch there would be no one left to bitch about.

Ooops...I must have watched one too many of those American housewives type of carpy programs on TV.

To be honest I have only watched small segments of those American shows and I cant believe the women are for real. I usually walk out of the room in disgust at their behaviour.

I’m afraid in my experience most clubs groups and associations even some forums tend to be that way.
Little groups can form and they see it as their little kingdom which is run to suit a few key members and unless somebody is introduced by a member of a clique they tend to be excluded unless they are very confident and pushy.

There are exceptions of course, I used to belong to the Triumph owners club and new members were welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. I am not a church goer, in fact I fully expect a clap of thunder each time I go to a wedding or funeral and pass through the doors, but I have always found the sides people and regular members to be chatty and helpful and inclusive.

Of course I have to give Genes a plug too, aren’t we (almost all) friendly folk who are chatty, happy live and let live types? ;-)

:-D
