Phil the Greek. Him and his daughter are my 2 favourite Royals.

They say what they think and just get on with it.

He looks good for his great age and desipite all the health scares over the last 18 months, he is a great consort for our Queen.

I am not a monarchist, but some of them just appeal as people. Bet he would make an interesting dinner guest. :-D

Happy BIrthday Prince Philip.

He's certainly doing well, altho there have been some health scares recently.

Hope he will be around for many a year yet, the Queen obviously loves him very much and he has supported her staunchly all this while. Despite his slip ups, you have to admire him.

Many happy returns of the day Sir.

Many people believe Prince Philip is Greek.

The Schleswig-Holstein Soenderburg-Glücksburg name is Danish.

I can't remember the full story...... his father was a Prince of Denmark, and became King of Greece, until he was "deposed"??? All very confusing.

Must check the family history :-D

There are a few clips about Prince Philip on YouTube.... all very interesting.

He has a reputation for saying the wrong thing, but he probably says what most people are thinking :-D I think he dragged the British royalty (kicking and screaming?) into the real world as much as he could.

Happy Birthday Prince Philip

I also wish Prince Philip a Happy birthday.
I do like his straightforward attitude...and he has been a great support to the Queen over all these years.
I have seen him about 3 times on various trips over the country and one time when he went past my house where I stood in front garden, and waved.I was thrilled .
He must have good genes! :-)

On the 10th June 1921 Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth was born; as Philippos Schleswig-Holstein Soenderburg-Glücksburg on the Greek island of Corfu.

Best wishes on your birthday Sir - enjoy, I just wish I had a quarter of your stamina
