It was me. I espied some in a little enclave whilst on a romantic break and thought: "Hmmm that would look nice in my Merseytonvillesidegrampiancheshire garden." |

I wonder who the idiot was who brought the stuff to the UK in the first place - it's a menace, along with Balsam - dreadful stuff choking out our natural plants |

Some years ago we had main drainage provided by the Water Board. One of the conditions for getting it was that the Board had to deal with the Japanese Knotweed, which was flourishing along all the verges where the pipes were going. |

I have a Bamboo problem, probably 15 years ago a previous neighbour planted it in her garden it comes through under the fence into My garden....what I have been doing is cutting the shoot down to about six inches long and injecting the stalk with neat roundup...........I use some of the hyperdermics that came with a printer ink refilling kit...........Bob |

Hello Lesley....thank you for that, l have had a peep. l will also contact the environment office. One of residents up the road keeps going into the woods and cutting it down, l'm going to have to tell him not to as that is one of the worst things to do...grrrrr |

Glyphos is pretty lethal - spray it on the leaves and kills down to the roots - it's very expensive though - works on brambles a treat - don't know if it works on knotweed |

Right well this is abit complicated cause we don't know who owns the woods, a very big company have indicated that they do, but the old boy who used to live in our house actually had it registered in his name....so l was told yesterday and today, the person who told me is going to check it out with solicitors....now this could mean we are responsible for the Knotweed. |
