That's been me since Tuesday :-(

The house was SO quiet on Thursday because I lost my voice!

I've been wallowing in misery in my bed since Tuesday, staggered downstairs this morning.

Just to make things really wonderful, yesterday was my birthday & OH went out and bought beautiful prawns, got me a just-ripe avocado..... and I couldn't taste a thing. :-(

I'm dragging myself out tomorrow for a few "cool drinks"........ I'll drown the miseries :-D

Mouth was watering at though of prawns and Avocado - one of my favourites. But it must be horrible to look at them, salivate and taste nothing. Sorry for you. :-( :-(

My OH's best friend had a bad car accident on Flint Mountain (in Nepal, just over 28,000 feet high, Brenda can confirm ;-)) and permanently lost her sense of smell. 40 years ago. She never mentions it, but that must be the worst of our senses to lose, I would have thought.

At least, it is only temporary. More of those juicy prawns for you next week :-D ;-)

Researching:
I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. I am also researching the Clusker family from Co. Meath in Ireland who moved to West Lothian and from there to Fife............"Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est"

It didn't take long.

I've been staggering back and forward from the bed to the fridge most of this week, not interested in food, but lots of drinks.

OH has been looking after himself.

Which means..... now I can't find anything! The big saucepan... not in the drawer with the other saucepans, but in the cupboard with the cake tins, mixing bowls with dinner plates, the cutlery drawer is all mixed up, and the glasses are all jumbled up (I like the same size all together). Who knows what else is hidden.

Am I getting weird? Naaah, I just like things in their proper place. :-D

I also went down with a bad cold on Tues night. It is the worst I have had for years. I spent most of 3 days sleeping. But I must be getting better, or am I just feverish? I have actually been doing odd jobs around the place yesterday and today. I climbed down into the ditch to move some rocks that the workmen did not move the other day, they left them where they will block the run-off from the culvert. I put new numbers on our mailbox as the middle one of the three was the only one visible. I clipped back the plants and weeds that were overgrowing the footpath that comes up the side of the house, and swept the path, then applied that stuff that kills the stuff that makes the concrete slippery - I had been getting a bit nervous about going down that path after all my other troubles, so didn't want to slip. Not that I have finished cleaning the path, I ran out of stuff, but the lower part is not so bad as it gets some sun during the day.

It is the most work I have done here for a year or more!

Yikes Huia, I got tired just reading what you've been up to!

I went out tonight (first time out of the house for almost a week) and had two beers, I'm worn out. All that heavy lifting lol :-D
