If I right click, I don't get any options to save anything

Windows 7

jax Report 21 Jun 2014 15:36

Its easier to screen shot on phone...but I prefer to snip on laptop

I can right click on a photo that I want to steal (normally on FB)......but not if I want a copy of this page

I don't even know what windows I've got

I could shut the laptop down and restart then write down what it is before posting on here, but can't be bothered :-)

Paint on my laptop is click Start and it is on the popup list.

Graham

Graham Report 21 Jun 2014 15:45

I can right click on any file and get the option to open that file with paint. But when I try looking for paint I can't find it. :-S

Graham

Graham Report 21 Jun 2014 15:48

I wonder what your OH would do if you asked him to do some decorating Jax? :-D

KittytheLearnerCook Report 21 Jun 2014 15:50

Windows 7 it is then Jax :-D

Graham, have you tried clicking on start and type paint into the search box at the bottom of the popup bit?

I use it a lot when I mislay things on the laptop or desktop :-(

jax

jax Report 21 Jun 2014 15:54

I think windows 8 is quite a bit different to 7

He used to help me with the computer, now I find it easier to google what I want and teach myself .

He wasn't keen on 8 when he first got it......but he has got used to it, but doesn't do the same sort of things that I do

Graham

Graham Report 21 Jun 2014 15:57

With Windows 8 there isn't a start thingy to click on like there is with Windows 7. I can click on File Explorer and do a search; but it's so slow I end up loosing the will to live. :-(

I've got Windows 7 on my desktop. But that means going indoors. I wonder how long it'll be before Windows 9 comes out?

The reason F5 doesn't work on some laptops is that certain manufacturers decided to change the usage of the F keys for media controls, brightness, luminosity, volume etc - hence the need to press the Fn key to get the 'old' functions back.

jax

jax Report 21 Jun 2014 16:07

I have heard a few people say they do not like it.

I have only got used to this one....I don't want to change again.....although I have been having problems with it recently, maybe it doesn't like being on 18 hours a day, every day :-)

Graham

Graham Report 21 Jun 2014 16:13

I found it!!! I found paint! :-D
I've created a shortcut on my desktop so I don't have to go hunting for it again. ;-)

Graham

Graham Report 21 Jun 2014 16:16
