You are right...nobody does have to change their minds.....but why the hounding from some people in the first place......it isn't just him....it is anyone who happens to fall foul of some.......Doesn't make it right whoever does it.......John is paying his price and others will no doubt follow.

Sue......Ann has the changing mind bit in one of her sentences ... :-).......although it doesn't actually say one HAS to change ones mind......It sure does seem like it if one wants to keep in with the in crowd.....in my opinion that is.......woe betide anyone who disagrees with the those who can spout venum and then change their minds when it suits them.

I've only read a few of these pages as I haven't been onto the boards for some time. I have in the past added to John's post but decided his off beat opinions were not for me so I simply avoided reading them.

From genes point of view, if their time is being spent focused on dealing with one member who is evoking more comment and more attention than all the rest, his exit will save them much work which in turn equals less of their salary being apportioned to 'managing John'.

Smacks of Eldrick...
Anything interesting, that starts a debate ,bit of a tongue in cheek . questions inbuilt predjuces..noooooo.. no go
jam recipes...great aunties death due to 'unknown health reasons ( read syphilis) but not mentioned ? thats.. OK
Every single person on GR who adds to this forum has something of interest to say..
But it now seems that anyone who has something really interesting to say that would not be approved by their Local Womens Institute should be BANNED ...
for attracting peoples responses and threads that last longer than 4 replies..?

GR .. take note .. not all people who have family history as their hobby wear home made cardigans and swoon when assumed ' rude' words or jokes are posted ..

.
GR you really are patronising the users of this forum .

Doesn't smack of Eldrick at all Newby.....It smacks of your own good self ;-)

There is a difference between "falling out" and dragging someone's private life over the board as happened to John....just as there is a difference between disapproval of Errol and dragging his private life up ( mentally if not explicitly) every time he posts something.

In both cases only the people directly involved know the truth ( which is not always 'black and white' is it?).... and sometimes that seems to get lost in the 'chinese whispers' that are spread around.

It's a shame John didn't listen to good advice, but that's John, and he will take the consequences with as much good grace as he took the nastiness previously.

I am sure however those who previously supported the intrusive postings about his family on this board will understand why some of us reading certain peoples' posts can't help but think "hypocrite!", however much they say their opinion of John has changed.

Susan .. you have no idea..
Been here long enough to notice that anyone who steps out of the 'acceptable ' conversation gets questioned about multiple accounts and underlying innuendo's.
Why is it now so wrong for threads that 4 years ago would be perfectly acceptable are now reported ?
Also .. why does this 'smack' of me?
Just asking..because I don't understand your reply at all...
edited to give the benefit of the doubt

Susan10146857 Report 29 Jun 2014 15:02

Why does it smack of Eldrick?.......I don't see the similarities but hey ho....just saying

:-)

Why is it now so wrong for threads that 4 years ago would be perfectly acceptable are now reported ?

Not sure what that has to do with the thread......but have no answer
:-S

I see you have edited your post to say I am being extremely rude......Hmmmm! Sheesh! Where?....but let me see....now what shall we read into your own good post that smacks of Eldrick........Nope!.......won't go there......I do so apologise for sounding extremely rude but I am afraid I am paranoid and could have taken your post to have being extremely rude to me......or perhaps we are both paranoid!........let's say that....then apologise some more......then move on :-)

I too have been here a long long time and seen all the game playing.......didn't used to say anything but when I see injustice......something gets to me

Newby Report 29 Jun 2014 15:12

Me too , so again .. honest question.. why does it smack of me?
You were very fast to add this to the thread and all I am asking is why you assume this ?

Hearsay Newby?.......I have seen your posts in the past Newby.......I remember when you actually were a Newby......a nice kind sweet person......so who is paranoid now Lol

Newby

Newby Report 29 Jun 2014 15:17

Wow you really are interested in my posts... sorry for confusing you , although everything made the same point,..,there is no HUGE doubt , except it seems from your end..
I get really annoyed after all these years when people still work on the daft principle that I had multiple accounts .. so again
Why do you assume this smacks of me?
Not paranoid .. you brought the question up?..

Susan10146857 Report 29 Jun 2014 15:24

LOLOLOL

Calm down Newby.......I at no time ever knew of any whispers loud or silent about you and multiple accounts........This is the first I have heard about it , so you could say that you are spreading your own gossip.

I am not, as you put it, interested in all your posts......I think you may be reading more into it than is really there.

I didn't think that Your remarks about Smacking of Eldrick were substantiated and said so.....therefore it must have smacked of yourself.....who else?.....sheesh Newby......this is such hard work!......I have no gripe with you so please don't start one!

Newby Report 29 Jun 2014 15:33

Susan .. I rest my case...
A thread where people discuss things with no worries about being reported .. where people can say what they think and disagree
Thanks Susan
