He has been banned from the boards, he can still use his membership for his research. So his Platinum upgrade is still valid.

I did not come on the boards for over a year when I first joined. Did not really know what to expect.

Now all I pay for is the use of the boards. Prefere other site(s) for my research.

Don't think they will back down as will be a loss of face

Many moons ago there was a big fracas on here and some long term members voiced their discontent and the outcome only them to get a lifetime bam

Caused a big uproar so much so the site went into overdrive and was closed down for a few days. I think it was

Members were told don't post your discontent or give us any aggro or you will be banned too

Some of the old members started their own family research help site

Seem to remember one was a Val or Valerie who was a BIG help looking up census info etc for other members

I agree with most of what has been said on here.

They say the Church is full of sinners and I know JustJohn would hold his hands up to being one of those. :-D
He would also know about forgiveness. Apologies (whether public or private) can be very restorative. However, like an argument, it takes two to make an apology work.

While we are talking about people being headmistressy, let it be said that in a lot of infant schools the main school rule or motto is 'be kind'. A good rule on here, I think.

I trust they've refunded his subs - he just upgraded to platinum

Can´t believe that GR can treat a paying member like this.

It´s true that John can come over as self opinionated, but that´s nothing compared with the downright nastiness from some posters who seen to get away scot free.
I think it´s disgusting.

With the lovely BC calling John Jack, brought to mind that as most of us genealogist nuts know Jack was another name often used for many of those mamed John.
Indeed my father was one of these, he was named John Henry ------ but known all his life as Jack even his parents called him by that name.

Anyway I diversify .Now let me begin again.
