well it was shorter than the 99 years ban I once got lol ;-) ;-)

I don't know John, but I saw him around the boards. Yes some people told him to leave them alone but ............. Maybe because I have a warped sense of humour too, I never saw what the problem was. Oh well, he'll be back sometime and people can start complaining about him again and everything will be back to normal. He just has to hang in there until it does.

He was on a final warning, Cynthia says, so that probably explains it.

How could we forget him? :-S silly old sausage.... he's only gone and spoilt his party.
But seriously though, I think a 6 yr ban is way to long, and there have been far worse troublemakers on GR and some more hurtful. John was just like a pesky fly....

When I first joined GR (Oct 2012)! I regularly chatted to John and thought he was funny. We both lived in the same town,when we were younger,,and I enjoyed the banter and sharing our local history. However, I decided not to comment or add to his threads as they were becoming more sarcastic, rude and hurtful to other members. I believe he made comments without thinking about what he was saying, and certainly enjoyed winding certain people up, and clearly he did this to good effect. Sometimes I would read his comments on other threads and quite honestly I did not have a clue what he was going on about. We just did not have the same sense of humour, just not my cup of tea, so I left him to it. He did love the attention, and would play to the gallery,

I honestly don't believe there is any malicious intention in his comments, more like a naughty little boy getting away with as much mischief as he could

Six years does seem to be excessive. Hopefully his time will be taken up with his new little granddaughter and the six years will fly by.

But seriously, when I saw how long he had been banned for my first thought was 'if I was banned for that long they may as well call it a lifetime ban!' Maybe that is their intention!!

I think the length of the ban is totally out of order, (though if a certain other was banned for that time I would be smiling - (hypocrite or what haha)

I hope GR reconsider, but at the same time hope if John does come back he heeds those who give a friendly warning. He always has been his own worst enemy on here :-(

I haven't been on the boards for a while but I am sad to hear John has been banned for SIX years :-\ On the other hand I know of several who have received life time bans and have brazenly come back under a slightly altered name, soooooo hope to see you soon Jack :-D <3

Not a fan of John but don't mind him on most threads but he did go to far that time but he isn't the first to spoil a thread and won't be the last I dare say.

I also reported John and told him why, I do believe he was quite out of control that night and if he had listened to others this may have been avoided.

A 1 or 2 mth would surely have been enough.

But then the person who John was in conflict with could have walked away and not engaged the situation if it was that irratating,,,,,

I think most would just walk away and leave someone grumbling to themselves. :-D :-D :-D.

.....so, GR, if JJ's been banned for 6 years for being OTT, annoying and winding people up, what are you going to do about the annoying, puerile, irritating and yes, even offensive RR'r (who, I've noticed, tends to pick on certain people - so can also be deemed a bully) ??
