Susan10146857 Report 29 Jun 2014 10:26

it seems I am next to be hounded!

last night I had to delete my thread......a silly air headed thread but non the less harmless......because one of our caring community members decided to post an obscene joke on it This particular member knows of my views on the type of joke so it was of course, in my view, a deliberate case of harassment on his part.

What I would like to know is......Why?......What could I have possibly done to justify this deliberate act of unkindness by a fellow member who I have known for some years......and the following schoolboy/ girl sniggering of the person who decided to join in and then go on another thread and agree with what is being said about harassment of other members.....Sheesh!......

If it has anything to do with my sticking up for anyone who is set upon by those who dislike my views on fair play toward other members.....then shame on you!.....

Harassing a woman in the middle of the night with filth is decidedly perverted in my view.......I am sure others will join you on your own thread of filth so why do you need to harass me?

I would also like to ask.......Is this to be the norm toward me on future posts by certain members of our so called caring community?.......There is an underlying nastiness on here that if spoken out about is quickly quashed as not being accepted by the pack like behaviour of some of our members who cannot accept a differing point of view to their own without retaliating in said way.

Why didn't you rr the Joke Susan? Seems to me that by deleting the thread you have been more than fair to the person who added it. I am not a prude but don't like to see obscene jokes on a board such as this.

There are forums where you can share such jokes, personally I don't like to see them on these boards (sharing risque jokes over a few drinks with friends is a different matter ;-) ).

Hopefully you won't be targeted again. xx

Oh blimey, I didn't see that Susan :-(

This is how I see the boards, if your not flavour of the month, then you can't disagree with anyone, if you are flavour of the month, you can say what you like about who you like, and as strong as you like, everything is acceptable.

I'm finding it hilarious that some people who REALLY disliked someone, and said so in the strongest of terms, now think that person a saint. I'm pleased to announce, if I thought someone a plonker, I usually keep to that opinion, at least it's honest.

As for the crude stuff, hate it, I wonder what those who join in would say if the member who posted the crude stuff, started pm'ing them, with same stuff, bet they'd come on the boards and ask why would someone do that to poor me !

I "speak" on the boards, like I would in a crowded room of strangers, use acceptable language and never get too personal, works for me, and I don't have to think back as to whether I liked that person last week or not, if I didn't like you last week, I'll probably not like you this week :-)

Forgot to add...As for the request review button, where is the button that says " After you have pressed this button you MUST explain to the whole forum who you are and why it was you pressed this button" ? Oh there isn't one that's why, so you DON'T have to.

Hope GR can cope with the sudden mass of pm's from one member to another to announce " I told you it was her who ALWAYS rr's threads"

It isn't, but if makes your day to say so, away you go :-D

Dare one RR anything Lyndi?.......I think the ensuing berating of anyone who dares to RR anything is not a pretty sight I am afraid.......many of those who like that sort of thing think nothing of others points of view and make their opposition clear.....as it seems this is a case in point.

Lyndi Report 29 Jun 2014 11:26

Can understand that Susan - it was a person wrongfully accused of rr'ing a post recently that has the boards in a stew at the moment!

I have rr'd in the past (not recently) but would not and am not obliged to own up if I don't want to. It is up to GR to sort out the rr, not the mob.

Just hope this doesn't stop you posting.

I would just like to know Bob why you posted it on my thread in the first place when you know my views......saying sorry is all well and good but am I to expect more of the same?

Edit:......ah! I see.....you mean the nice apology you gave me....

Sorry Susan, I responded to the joke. It made me laugh. It was late and I was reading it out of context of your thread - maybe the poster wasn't thinking about that either?
I didn't realise you feel harrassed.
I promise not to laugh at a joke on any of your threads again.

That's a shame Island.....Just when I started to believe you too :-(

Leave it, Susan wiv, I agree with what you said. Didn't see your other thread. I'm on hols in Cornwall, so only looking in from time to time. I don't like dirty jokes on a Genealogy site either. Time and a place for them but a room full of strangers is the wrong place. Only report hateful ones, though. I try not to read them.

Just had a reprimand from the "Management" they have removed my post from your deleted thread, Susan.......so the RR was upheld
