Susan10146857 Report 29 Jun 2014 16:13

Perhaps they are in a violent relationship Sirius, or know someone who is.....what seems like a flippant remark to one is a devastating blow to someone going through Hell.......just a thought

Sirius Report 29 Jun 2014 16:12

Perhaps the reporter would like to know that the person I came closest to hurting EVER as mentioned , had just punched my son in the chest ? That person was drunk and had completely randomly chosen to attack a 10 year old.

wow,

I think I just said I had known a few men and women I had FELT like slapping, and had once come close to pushing someone downstairs ( not THAT close I just thought about it) ....but DID NEITHER, so why was my post reported? I was not advocating violence...I was in fact pointing out that the temptation to use it could and should be resisted even if there is 'just cause' ( and since the reporter does not KNOW the circumtances shouldn't they have asked?)

Did anyone see that true drama the other night? ....I think it was called 'Murdered by my Boyfriend'........I wonder how many women were in her position and couldn't seem to get away......if anyone didn't see it and/or is in a violent relationship, it is a must see....I am sure it can be found on catchup......Some answers may be found there too.

"A dramatic video has revealed how domestic violence rises by more than a third when England are knocked out of the World Cup.
The clip, which shows a woman anxiously watching a football match on TV, claims domestic abuse increases 38 per cent when the national side exit the competition.
This figure is cited from research by the University of Lancaster which showed the rise in domestic violence in Lancashire when England lost - as well as a 26 percent rise when the team won or drew."

"Researchers from Lancaster University examined crime figures from Lancashire Police during the 2002, 2006 and 2010 World Cups and found there was more violence on days when England played.
In Surrey the increase was far more dramatic - with a 61 per cent leap in domestic violence reports on the day England drew 0-0 with Algeria in South Africa four years ago."

Now whilst this is not based on lengthy research I think it's probably not far out, emotions run high, drink is knocked back and the weather is hot... all triggers if you have a temper.

Do I think it is ever acceptable? no, but aside from the clearly poor excuse that your team lost, I can see circumstances where it is 'understandable'...eg in self defence.

AnnCardiff Report 29 Jun 2014 15:50

Susan10146857 Report 29 Jun 2014 15:49

But why would anyone want to hear the reasons? ...anyone who even attempted to hit me......I would be out of there.......No second chances......let the reasons be found without my help.

Newby

Newby Report 29 Jun 2014 15:43

To me it,s a big no .. visa versa
but it does happen and sometimes you have to look at the reasons

Sirius

Sirius Report 29 Jun 2014 15:43

Or vice versa.

Newby

Newby Report 29 Jun 2014 15:42

OK .. guys on here.. or women..
is there ever a case when a man hits a woman that is acceptable?
Honest question?
