Inside the pillow case or under the mattress - or dare I say it - have you checked the cat!!

I once had to chase my cat as he had passed my feet as I stood taking out a contact lens (don't wear them now) and it had dropped onto his back. Had to stop and take out the other one so I could put my specs back on to find him and search his fur. Found it eventually, and he enjoyed me stroking my fingers through his fur.

Hope the hearing aid comes to light Shirley, have you 'waved' a long cane right under the bed from end to end under the drawers?

I have searched everywhere I can think of Liz , inside the pillow cases even took off the top sheet in case it was tucked in etc

Haven't tried the long cane thing , will see if I have a garden cane and try that later after he gets up

:-(

Shirley
Try the long cane right under the bed as when you moved the bed.
The bed may have not moved sufficiently(sp)for you to see right under the bed.

Don't forget theses silly things bounce all over as well.

Good Luck

Have you checked 'under' items on the bedside table? Does the lamp have a hollow base?

I only ask because I was summoned to attend to our relative in the middle of the night and ended up taking the whole bedroom apart looking for the elusive hearing aid. After many hours I lifted the little old brass bell she has on the bedside table and there was the hearing aid! Panic finally over.

Have you looked higher?

His hearing aid could have got caught in a sleeve, and flew out when he took his sweater off.

Could it be hanging off a lampshade, or on the curtain rod?

Not checked the light fitting we don't have curtains we have a vertical blind and a fixed pelmet across the top. Will check over the top of it tho

Thanks for the suggestions . I do feel it must be in the bedroom as I found its battery near the side if the bed

Hope the swishing around with the cane under the bed finds it

At the risk of sounding daft - have you checked the vacuum bag.

How infuriating, Shirley, and what's the odds that once you replace it the old one will turn up somewhere totally daft ?

The other day I mislaid my purple brolly, I knew I had taken it out in the car when we went to the coast but even tho I looked under the car seats, in the boot etc etc and in a bag of things I had with me, I couldn't find it and then I realised I had lost a pair of flip flops as well, that I had also taken out with me so I imagined me putting them both in a carrier bag and somehow losing that!

I asked o.h. to look for me and he couldn't find the brolly but the next day he came in and said he had found it under the seat after yet another look. I went out to the car for something and found the flip flops in the boot! I am sure someone is playing silly beggars lol

I only have a very small Dyson vac ,just bought for upstairs so I don't have to lug the big one up and down the stairs

It's a Dyson city and I empty it after a few uses . I did take the opportunity when the bed and the drawer cabinets were out to Hoover behind and them emptied it so know it didn't pick the aid up

Very frustrating this all is

Rang the opticians to see if we can replace just the one and was told yes but he has to go in to be seen

What's the betting there will be the big sell to try and persuade him to buy a newer type so it will mean getting a new pair

If it´s any consolation.
My OH has been telling me for about a month that his hearing aid wasn´t working & when he got his pension at the end of the month, he would take it for repair.
yesterday as he was setting off for the optician, I found out why it wsn´t working.
He admitted that he had put a shirt to soak because it had a stain on it & his hearing aid was in the pocket. So it was immersed in water overnight.
No wonder it didn´t work. Now he has a bill for €120 for the repair. :-| :-|

I know i should be more supportive as bless him he has Alzheimer too that is very frustrating for him
He does though say in conversations memory's he has that I done,t but prompting does have YES I REMEMBER well done you!!

its very sad for Alzheimer sufferers to lose their way on who they are are .

My Hubby is very with it BUT very frustrated when he tries to tell you his current thoughts or what has popped into his mind only to pop out again

You have said that you have checked the washing machine, but did you think to take out the pump filter, usually in a cover down in a front bottom corner. You can often find all sorts of things hidden in them. Just another thought !!.
