Oh dear - that is very frustrating, used to have an Afghan Hound and I would spend hours grooming him, let him out in the garden and what would he do - roll in the dirt -( |

If the dogs had a great time and enjoyed themselves, surely that's far better for them than being made to perform purely for the entertainment of humans. |

I am pretty sure the dogs wouldn't do it if they didn't enjoy it. When we went to the 3 Counties Show at Malvern they had agility dogs doing a display. Some of the dogs were rescue dogs (I missed the announcement so they might all have been). One of the dogs doing the display was a rottweiler that had been very badly treated, his legs had been injured and he had been battered and kicked. Now, he would only have performed for love I am sure and he did perform and you could tell he was really enjoying it. :-) |

I know BC...not on, is it ( my mother put ringlets in my hair too....I loved them so much that I forced myself to stay awake so as not to flatten them ......but enough of this and back to the thread..... |

oh you should really go to a competition GG.....try a small fun one first.....once you get the hang of it you could maybe try Kennel Club or UKA.........It is great fun and one gets to meet all walks of life......nobody makes fun of anyone who is new...cos on the day it could be their dog.....whichever grade they are in.....that runs out of the ring after an imaginary rabbit :-D |
