Fluffy should be going to dog obedience classes......then from there....when your dog is old enough......1 year to start agility training....18 months before it can be registered to compete......My dogs will shortly be doing the Kennel Club good citizen award, which is all about obedience......great fun :-)

is your dog a Mittel or a Klein Shelley?.....Mine are Mittel which is medium.....The Kleins (small). are....in my opinion, much faster.......the poles are lowered to accommadate the size of dog...... Enter.....German Spitz agility.......into YouTube and you will see some very fast dogs.

Unfortunately Susan am unable to do agility
these days due to ill health, did take him along
after obedience classes when he was a year old
the class teacher thought he would be good at it
as he had no problem with some of the agility apparatus
he had in his obedience class.

she is a Pomeranian only 10 week old

10 weeks is just about the right time to start obedience :-D.......My youngest is a handful and if he hadn't gone to obedience I would be tearing my hair out by now :-(

i took her to the vets yesterday for needle
next one in to week
vet says she can not go out for at least another 3 weeks
im not even alowed to let her in the garden becouse once in a blue moon we get a fox jump over the garden wall even thow the wall is over 6ft high

Oh stop being so fussy and take in a natural state,,,fuzzy wuzzy or fizzy ,,,,,,,,the dogs wont mind,,,,,,,infact they could set a trend. :-D :-D :-D.

believe me Kay they are not a pretty sight..:-D....OH is still sulking so it may be that we don't go anyway.......Nothing worse than a bloke who sulks to make the day go swimmingly not :-(

Oooh - frizzy Spitz breeds! Mine has a thick double coat and is a nightmare to groom, especially when he's been in a nice muddy ditch :-(. Yesterday OH met a lady who does dog grooming and she gave him her card and offered to 'do' him (the dog, not OH) - she actually saw the monster so she must be brave :-D

A spitz is not meant to have a "haircut" ......only the paws need a trim.....I saw one the other day and it had been shaved to the skin......poor thing......I am sure some people may think that they are doing it a favour in this heat, but dogs have their own way of cooling down.....through the paws and by panting......giving it a haircut can make it hotter especially those with a double coat.

He's a Eurasier - part Chow Chow, part Wolf Spitz (Keeshond type) and he IS very cuddly, but a bit whiffy when he's been in water! I'm looking for a better brush as it's hard to get all the dead fur out of his undercoat, once it's got a bit matted. My last dog (Norwegian Buhund) also had a double coat but wasn't so fluffy, and he was better behaved when being brushed!

I have just bought a MIKKI undercoat rake...large.....I cannot extol its virtues enough ....It is brilliant.....the teeth move up and down and it only rakes out the dead fur......Amazon....roughly £5 odd......free P&P ......you won't regret it.

A woman was using one at a show and tried it on my boys......all that brushing.....all the time wasted......they now have lovely shiny fur more often and tangle free.....it also helps to keep the air flowing in hot weather......there is no effort to it whatsoever.....just gently rake and the tangles come away........it does not rip away the fur.....only the dead stuff.......There now......adverts over :-D
