Dear Purple and Mau

Hello

Thank you for your replies. Always well-received and appreciated.

Its strange how all these events happened on the same date but different years.

Purple, I do believe that Diana revived the monarchy and made it more accessible to people. She had an insight into people and wanted her children to see many
things so they could appreciate what they have.

Many congratulations to your grandson, Mau.

Take gentle care, Ladies
With best wishes
Elizabeth,
xx

1st July 2014.........our youngest Grandson graduates from Edinburgh University and we were there to see him receive his BSC with honours.

It was a fabulous day, hot and sunny. We are very proud of him and he looked so smart in his fur-trimmed gown.

Lots of pictures taken for our happy memories Elizabeth xx

Oh Michael Landon, swooon.....

Wouldn't Diana have been enjoying the way things are with her lads, and spoiling little George rotten too, bless her...

Battle of the Somme - such a terrible loss of life.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are all okay.

Today marks the half-way point in the year.

There have been many different news events associated with this date but these ones I think of:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1916, there were at least 56,000 casualties on this day at
the Battle of the Somme, 19,000 of whom died.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lady Diana Frances Spencer was born in 1961.
Later, she would become Diana, Princess of Wales.
She would have been 53 today.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1997, Hong King returned to Chinese rule after 100 years.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the same year, actors Robert Mitchum and James Stewart passed away.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1991, the actress Lee Remick and Michael Landon, who played the part of Charles Inglalls in the much loved series "Little House on the Priarie" also passed away.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many memories of this date for me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take gentle care
Elizabeth,
xx
