Good news, Shy, how did you find out? Maybe she is too poorly to write now, disabled with arthritis or something? Why not send a notelet or letter with a stamped addressed envelope in, she may have lost your return address.

Depends where in the world,

You could google to see if an Obit announcment is out there.......US are pretty good for this..

UK,-----you could try ------"iannounce" taken from newspaper in and around UK.

Maybe the house is earning an income as she maybe in a care home.?

Does she have any children? Perhaps you could trace them.

Aside from the electoral rolls on here, 192.com can be searched for free then pay to view. From 2002 people have been allowed to opt out if the public listings.

You could also look for a listing on the BT online phone book to at least see if she still at the same address. Assuming she is still living, she might have gone into a care home.

Try iannounce for on-line obituaries on the off chance that her family placed one.

Hi Shy, nice to see you around. Hope all is well with you and yoursx

Why not write a note to someone in your friend's street, explaining who you are and why you are writing to them? I know you won't have the name but you could put To the neighbour of Lynda K and a number close to hers, enclose a stamped addressed envelope so they can reply to you.

Good luck, hope you find out, it's not nice when you are unsure of your friend's situation

Lynda K has been a family friend since my parents meet her waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the 50's
We lost total track of her about 5,6 years ago. The brithday card and Christmas cards we send weren't returned so someone is keeping them. The house, as far as I can determine, hasn't been sold. I used to get some money for Christmas from her, that has stopped.
Is there anything anyone can suggest to determine if she is still alive and kicking? She would be 87 now so maybe she isn't but it is mystery has to want happened to her.
