From Exeter, (exit M5 - J30 Sandygate Roundabout), it's about 11 or 12 miles using A376 & A3052. |

Maggiewinchester I remember my great aunt regularly taking me to Tring reservoir for birdwatching many many years ago. We also used to visit the museum and I loved it. |

The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth. Can spend the day there quite easily with/without children. Free, free. |
