Think we're all multitasking here ;-) ;-)

Yes, Ann - Hawarden crops up the most, and he lived in Ewloe before moving up to Consett in the 1870's He was a coal miner there, and - wait for it...........a Methodist lay preacher! :-0

I'll never live that down :-D :-D

Gin,

Holywell and Hawarden are two seperate registration districts, near to each other.

Ewloe is 1 min from me.....sure that would come under Hawarden RD.

Ann - I'm just discovering that I have the wrong family for my G Grandfather, Joseph Ellis. He was born in Hawarden ( or Holywell) about 1853, and lived in Ewloe before moving up to Consett. I now think his father was Samuel Ellis, and mother, Mary.
I had got him confused with someone born in Holyhead, Anglesey :-S ;-)
After 1873, I'm sure I've got everything right :-D

Think the spelling is right Fly :-D

No Gin.....but Ellis is a very common name in England/Wales made worse if all first names are similar through decades.

What correct info on him do you have so far?
