Foggy

Foggy Report 14 Aug 2014 22:45

Exactly as expected when an actor or actress is shown on this badly done program,

Boring and uninteresting. :-( :-(

Amazing tonight that the 2 brothers met up again after such hardship in their early years.

Re the Julie Waters episode.

For once OH sat and watched it together. We found the historical details interesting as we only have a vague knowledge of what went on in Ireland.
As he said, if it was a different actress, we might not have been so enthralled.

We're are reserving judgement about the format until we've watched one or two more episodes of the series.

As someone with Irish family, I was hoping this would be more interesting than it was. Yes we know how hard life was for farmers in Ireland, it was hard for everyone. But I felt that what I did see, I did not learn from.

I fell asleep....... Luckily I was recording it and watched next day. Still found it quite boring. And whenever she was walking anywhere she looked like Mrs. Overall.....

I think the only episode that had Irish researc in it, which I have ever enjoyed was Amanda Redmonds.

A great opportunity, missed
I hope that Brendan O`Carrolls show more on how hard Irish research can be....... :-(

I missed it cos OH has the remote control glued to his hand every evening .

We have a tele in the bedroom and I often go and lie on the bed and watch the programs I like like One born every minute .

Trouble is I fall asleep too and miss bits !!

I didnt see the programming for WDYTYA so missed it .

Hopefully some time it will be repeated .

I do agree with you about focusing too long on one ancestor.

I am looking forward to The Big Yin and Brendan :-D

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 9 Aug 2014 13:38

I thought it went on too long, they seem to stick
to one or two family members, I got it about the hard times and what
they went through was disgraceful but would have loved to hear
how all the children faired through their lives. :-)

BarbinSGlos

BarbinSGlos Report 9 Aug 2014 13:33

Why didn't you enjoy it ? It showed what such hard times people went through and their fight for a better life.

Just turn the sound down for next week ;-) ;-) :-D

Did anyone watch the Programe last night about the series. Was very interesting

Shame they had to rely on quite a few clips from the shows and it could have been longer

But enjoyable all the same

Looking forward to Julie Walters tonight :-)

As for who we would give a miss, in all honesty the only one I am not looking forward to is Brian Blessed, not because I do not like him, he can just be too much.

Billy Connolly has led a very interesting life, firstly in the shipbuilding and as a folk musician, long before he became a comedian.

Twiggy, now that should be very interesting. She was one of those people who we know was 'there' in the 60s. And she got to meet everyone. And she has remained so down to earth.
