who left us 20 years ago today. (It was a heatwave then as well). She had a good life and was 85, hardly ever anything wrong with her until in her 80s, digging the garden the day before she died. Still miss chatting to her. <3 <3

Mum died in the early hours of the morning, they lived in Hampshire, we were staying with friends in Hertfordshire. Couldn't drive down when we heard she was in hospital (unexpected) as we had all been drinking. Daughter drove to the hospital but was too late. Dad and sister were with her but she was not conscious so hopefully didn't know I wasn't there. If we hadn't been in Hertfordshire we'd have been here in Gloucester so still a distance. One of the things about living away from family.

Ann - my Mam died in the early hours of the morning, too, in her sleep at home, of a sudden heart attack. It was the day after my 60th birthday, and we were travelling back from holiday. Missing the chance to say goodbye is hard, I know :-) :-) <3 <3

Ann, it is awful when you live so far away from family. Norfolk is out on a limb when it comes to getting up to the North East in a hurry. A price we pay for living in God's county..
