Dumping family tree data to spreadsheet eg Excel?

I am looking for a way to dump or extract the key data in my Genes Reunited tree, into a format where I can sort it in a file like Microsoft Excel.
Is this possible?
I don't seem to be able to print everything in the "List" view - instead only the visible records get printed (eg the first ~ 23 records).

The "Export GEDCOM" utility only seems to give me a file to import into another Family Tree program - which is not the intent.

I want to be able to look and sort all the records I have (and perhaps add columns in Excel) so I can be more selective when I do the graveyard visits.
Any help or advice appreciated.

if you google on "import gedcom into excel" you will find lots of free programs. I use this one mostly

The GEDCOM files exported from GRU do NOT included pictures, notes or the contents of any attached records. There are also bugs mostly related to dates. The current incarnation of the tree is such a tired and time consuming old bird I don't think many people use it any more. With GRU it is not possible to merge a GEDCOM file with the current file - on import everything current just vanishes. The import facility is buggy too.

By far the best format for storing family tree ( or any other hierarchical data ) is XML. Microsoft have a very nice ( free ) family tree program in their archive with super graphics which uses XML and integrates with XL & Access. It can import GEDCOM.

The FH industry is close to moving on from GEDCOM to XML. However 2 years ago at the Genes conference where GRU and Phil Moire were supposed to be star players FamilySearch got in a sulk and killed the move. It is now setting itself up as a rival to GRU, Genie and so on.

good luck

To: OneFootInTheGrave & RolloTheRed :
Appreciate the (very quick!) responses and can't think why I didn't Google or Bing myself. Bottom line is I pulled down the GEDxlate Lite software which does exactly as I wanted.
May also have a look in the Microsoft archive for the software mentioned but for now - your advice has got me where I need to be. THANKS !
