My DH can't spell.

I can't add up.

We balance each other out.......... sort of.

I keep telling him it's easier for me to use a calculator than it is for him to use a dictionary.

:-D

PS.... he can't spell, but he's the one with the uni degree lolol

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN BAD AT SPELLING BUT
THEN EVEN CORRECT SPELLINGS CAN LOOK EVEN MORE WRONG,,
I WRITE AS I SPEAK,IF I'M REPEATING SOMETHING ITS WRITTEN AS
IF I'M SPEAKING IT,WHICH I THINK MUST CONFUSE A LOT,
I AM CONFUSING
I AM CONFUSED
I CONFUSE EVERYONE,

AND GRAHAM I HATED THAT TOO,
BEING TOLD TO LOOK IT UP..LOOK IT UP IF I COULD DO THAT I WOULD
BE ABLE TO SPELL

Did you know that there is an English version of Firefox? I have it on my computer now. So the spellcheck works in English instead of American.

It used to wind me up at school (many moons ago) when I would ask my teachers how to spell a word and they would tell me to look in a dictionary. I'd ask how to find a word that I didn't know how to spell. They'd tell me to look at where I thought it should be, based on what the word sounds like. Try finding the word 'know' under 'n' in the dictionary. :-S

i can spell but get increasingly peed off with predictive spelling correcting my words

Seems to be Americanized corrections too that are very frustrating cos heh we had the English here first

I do correct when I see faux pars BUT do miss some too which does annoy

My I Pad is more at fault doing the predictive than my PC

Same here Dizzi, but as it's not how you spell, but what you say that matters, don't worry about it.

Dermot.........I agree with you :-D

Quotation: "I have nothing but contempt for anyone who can spell a word only one way."

Yes, Det where does that word go that you typed and isn't there when you read back? And who transposes the letters in words.

My fingers are often out of sync and like many my fingers can't keep up with my brain. Or should that be vice versa?

Dizzi you are not alone. <3 :-)

Come on admit it - who has a Goerge in their tree when it should be George??? :-D

Errors in spelling aside, its amazing how the fingers can't keep up with the thoughts. As often as not, you discover that you've missed out a word so that the sentence no longer makes sense. :-(

I'm sometimes absolutely amazed at the words that appear on the screen when I type

Those are NOT the words that I typed :-)
