I have been waiting two and a half years for an operation which they keep cancelling for various reasons , i have been gowned up and then sent home , had the op cancelled hours before i was due to go in several times, been told the they can't afford to do it , they are in crisis etc etc ... now there is to be an enquiry...

If you are waiting for an operation on the NHS it appears the best chance to get your operation is when there is a General Election just round the corner - I wonder where the money, staff, and beds for these operations are going to come from ;-)

The Telegraph is reporting that, the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, is setting aside £250million to pay for 100,000 extra treatments over the summer.

He will pledge that people will no longer have to face unacceptable waits of more than a year for NHS treatment unless it is clinically necessary.
