Our nearest McD and KFC are nearly 50 miles away, but we do get the occasional take-away carton from the local pub thrown down. The biggest problem here is plastic drinks bottles. One Sunday morning one of our dogs retrieved ten of them from our local (small park). We are thinking of taking a photo and putting it in our village newsetter with the caption "Dog cleans up after humans".

It's not just the louts who drop litter.

A middleaged, nicely dressed woman was sitting in her car with an equally pleasantly dressed teenager. The woman finished drinking from a cola bottle and dropped out of her window.
I was so cross I got out of ours picked it up and tossed it back in with some comment about thinking she'd dropped it before scurrying away.
OH said she threw it out again, selfish woman. What message did it give to her young companion? It's OK to chuck rubbish on the ground? :-| :-|

I also have a garage that is on a forecourt next to an estate entrance pathway........convenient for dropping off their mates, after a takeaway evening..........yep, ashtrays get emptied, food containers dumped.......bottles thrown.........yep our throw away society is in full swing!

Around our way the Probation Office take offenders out litter picking. But it was probably them that dropped it in the first place.

I liv on a very quiet street in Plumstead, Sth London

We are plagued with this problem.

They buy their McCrap or KFCrap, come up here in their cars and the next morning the street is littered with the boxes.

Still rather that than the drug dealers we had some years ago. Spent week collecting number plates. Handed list to local police, after a week or so they seemed to stop. :-D

struck me this morning how many empty kfc Mcd's takeaway food wrappers there are deposited from cars.....

would it be useful, do you think, IF the outlets had ANPR cameras at the drive in service desk, and a car ID code printed on the carrier bags so that the L L's cars might be identified? or a code numbered bag logged with the car number?
Absolute laziness, of the purchaser to dump their waste onto the road...instead of taking it home......

there are SO many places that use NPR these days so another set wont be overkill.......I mean, "If you Have nothing to Hide then you have nothing to fear....."
