I often used to buy scotch eggs in Morrisons in a pack of 2 for 99p until I noticed that individually they cost 31p each. :-S

I believe what they are doing comes under the heading of - Psychological Marketing - they want you to think you are getting a bargain and you believe you are getting a bargain :-D

Nothing new about this, it has been going on for as many years as I can remember.

It isn't technically a 'rip-off' as this is when you are deliberately overcharged for something or the goods are not of the standard expected for the price.

It does however highlight the fact that 'bargains' are not always what they first appear to be and you need to keep your wits about you.

What I would like to see banned are all these claims that you are 'saving money' when clearly there is no evidence to back this up.

Asda claim they are 10% less than their competitors. Sainbury claim that they match their competitors prices but only give me a voucher for £2.50 when I spend £80. One (or both) must be lying - do the math....!

I think the best offer I saw was something that was "50p each or 3 for £1.50". Guess how many people were buying 3? :-S

Morrisons do a similar deal on Lucozade packs 6 and 8.
Plus some weeks the large single bottles are £I:99 and some weeks they are only 99p.
Its a good job I am stupid and cant work out the best deal... "As If" :-P

The major supermarket that I use - has the following offers on 330ml cans of Pepsi Max:-

Pepsi Max 12 x 330ml - Save £1.59 Was £5.59 Now £4.00
Pepsi Max 8 x 330ml - Only £2.00

In that supermarket I can buy 12 x 330ml cans of Pepsi Max for £4, or I can buy 16 x 330ml cans of Pepsi Max for £4 :-S

I wonder how many people get caught out by these kind of offers - hmm will need to decide which of these two offers I will go for :-D
