Shirley, I do hope you are feeling better. I know only too well the way 'the downs' can creep up on you but as others have said it does you good to get on here and write down your problems and there is always such a good response and helpful suggestions and kind words. :-) :-) So many on here have helped me pick myself up this last week or so. You are all such a good bunch. <3 I hope they have had the same effect on you pet. :-) :-)

It always takes me by surprise.
Everything goes along smoothly for several months & then suddenly half a dozen things go wrong & need dealing with all at the same time.
No wonder we feel depressed,

as soon as I feel the tiniest bit down
I get out and do something different
or I help somebody who needs help
or I try to make somebody smile

I know this wont work for everybody
but it always lifts my mood :-D :-D

Oh I do hope so Shirley, it will do you the world of good to have a day off every week if your hubby will go again. It will probably do him good too to see different faces and maybe join in with some activities or such.

Losing Mirabelle was bound to bring you low, sometimes it takes a while for the grief to really kick in and affect us.

You take care now

Thank you Liz

I am feeling more with it as the days go by . I think losing the cat and still crying about that on top of everything else just put me in a bit of a dark corner.

I am up and running again ,and dare I say it looking forward to having a me day tomorrow when hubby stars his first Dementia Day Care Centre visit.

Am hoping he enjoys it and want to go regularly :-D

Here's to you Shirley and our Gwen too, hope the days are becoming better for you both.

I get the same feelings sometimes, and just have to stay in bed or make myself do something like phone a friend or go out where I always seem to find someone to chat with which cheers me up.

Hugs for anyone who is feeling low today

Thank you all am feeling a bit better today .

Thats a good idea Det I will do some asking around

Oh isnt too bad at the moment although his balance isnt good .I have seen the deterioration in him in the last two months both in his balance and in his word recall . He is bright enough in himself though .

Dont think I was having cant cope moment/s just got a bit down with things

Doesnt help that in the last couple of days i have trouble with the internet which to be honest is my escapism .
It started cos a wire came out of the back of the wireless modem I put it back and rebooted but zilch connection on the PC although my Ipad was OK .

Then I managed somehow to get it back on the PC but now the I pad doesnt have the WI FI connection very annoying cos I get up early and use the Ipad in the sitting room .

Have got a super hub now on order so hope that sorts it .

Anyway thanks everyone I have lifted myself up and am on the go again .

:-D

You are entitled to have a quick wallow now and again, as long as its in more of a pot hole than a sink hole. We often forget that the carers need caring for just as much as their carees!

If you can bear to, ask at OH's new club about support groups that may be helpful to you. If they don't run one themselves, they ought to be able to put you in touch with a group, or even get someone to make the initial contact.

I understand how you feel Shirley.

I often get the black dog sitting on my shoulder, growling in my ear.

I don't let him stay long.

The worst thing I can do is stay in the house........ even going to the supermarket helps (dogs not allowed in there :-) ). I usually meet someone I know, and making contact with another human being can help. My DH is out working most days.

I get myself a treat (not always chocolate!), because.... I'm worth it.

Do you live anywhere near the sea Shirley?

I always found a long walk on the beach listening to the waves breaking really good for releasing tension headaches and making me feel reenergised again. I found the the noise of the sea very soothing.

But also having a really good cry releases all the emotions that make us feel down. So have a good weep and throw the negative out the window.

Always someone here to chat things through, so don't feel isolated.

Sending you lots of positve vibes

Yes it can catch you out without warning, sorry you are feeling down today.

How about a big bar of chocolate and a really good moan on the forum about something or somebody ;-)

Hope you surface from your wallow soon Shirley. difficult when you are down to see the way forward but hopefully the cloud will lift soon. Plenty of people on here to chat to when you are feeling down, are you able to sleep ok? Hopefully a good nights sleep will help. <3 <3 <3

Dont know why but it hits me from time to time

Depression isnt a nice place to be in ,usually this was pre menstrual but am well past that!!

Dont you wish sometimes to cover yourself and wallow ??

I usually come up again fighting and raring to go but hate the down times

:-( :-( :-( :-(

Am well and truly wallowing at the mo
