I'm sure some of us buy car parking tickets at times where you don't put your reg no. in the machine. Often then, if someone's errand has only taken a short time, they will pass their ticket to someone else who has just parked their car to use up the remaining time on it.

Well, a chap parking at one of our local car parks has said he has stopped doing it now. It seems they have installed cameras and a few people he knows have been filmed, then hit with fines for doing it. I think it is a bit mean, after all, the space has actually been paid for for the whole time, whether or not you are still there.I hate these sneaky things they keep coming up with!!!

OH got fined a few months ago for pretty much the opposite of this.
He paid for 2 hours on a ticket, but what he had gone to do only took half that time, so he moved to another meter & went off to do something else.
When he got back half an hour later he found a parking notice on his windscreen, even though there was still half an hour paid for on his ticket.
All within an area of a couple of hundred yards.

IT IS ILLGEAL TO PASS ON STILL VALID TICKETS

ITS CLASSED AS THEFT FROM THE CAR PARK OWNERS.

What, even when it´s your own ticket that you have paid for, to the same Local Authority, just 3 streets away from the original meter?

If you bought a sack of spuds and only used half; then gave the rest to your neighbour, that wouldn't be theft. How are parking tickets any different? :-S

Yes, it is iIlegal Dizzi, but it seems unfair that you pay for an hour for your space and then they can get 3 or 4 times the money for the same space if no-one stays the full time in it. They may class it as theft, but how can it be really, when they have been paid the amount required for the space. The true thing is that they can make more profit from each space by doing it.

Wisechild, it makes you wonder what you are actually paying for doesn't it? If you have mobility problems (but not bad enough for a disabled space) you might want to move your car to a part of the same carpark nearer to where you want to go next.

Very true Annx
OH doesn´t have a mobility problem. He´s just lazy.
Nevertheless it seems a bit unfair.
