Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 12 Aug 2014 06:54

Hi Huia, and thanks Sallie for updating Huia.

It was good to meet up and Sheila and her o.h. cooked an amazing Sunday lunch, altho by the time we arrived and Sallie was tracked down it was late afternoon when we ate. Sheila lives in a village which is not easy to find if you have a dodgy sat nav or miss a turning!

The afternoon finished our holiday off nicely, and we had a good drive home, having missed the heavy rainfall all the way except for one short shower.

In fact the weather was pretty good most of our week away, in a delightful cottage, my leg wasn't too bad and I got more exercise than I have in a while, those trips down to the pub meals (delicious) were easy but it was the climb back up to the cottage that nearly did me in, I was puffing and panting like an old horse with broken wind (breath - not the other sort)

The worst storm was either during the night or the day my o.h. took me on a 'nice country ramble' as described by a neighbour and resident of Tideswell. I only took a brolly and a thin kagoule and the heavens opened just as we reached the halfway mark, on a track in the middle of fields of cows and sheep, I got soaked to the skin and we had to trudge down to the village to make our way back. Luckily the sun came out and I dried off soon enough, but didn't I sleep well that night lol
