I have had mine for about 5 years But my son keeps on at me to buy a new one.

I am not very techie minded and it does just what I want it to do.

That´s what I mean. It´s way past it´s best before date & has been for several years.
Can´t convince OH that technology moves so fast that a PC can almost be outdated before you have got it home & installed it,
Think you misunderstood what I was saying Margee & Barbs.
OH thinks that 6 years means it is comparatively new. :-| :-| :-|

Within 2 years? From 2008-2014.

My laptop has just been in for an overhaul.
Excellent service. Took it in yesterday morning & techie brought it back to the house just before lunch.
The verdict was that some of the problems are due to it´s age. It was new in 2008.
OH nearly fainted when I told him & refuses to believe that a PC is past it´s best within 2 years.
