Mothers know!!

DH and I eloped (because we didn't want any fuss)

When we visited my Mother, as soon as we walked in she said "What have you two been up to, you look guilty". !!!!!

:-D

I was talking to her on the phone, my grand daughter was with her and I could hear the radio on the background but not what song was playing.
I said something, there was silence, then I asked, 'Why did you mouth 'Oh my god', what's up?'

Silence. Then: 'How did you know I mouthed it?' she asked, then explained ' I was 'mouthing' along to Madonna' - (which I couldn't hear)
'Oh, so you did mouth 'Oh my God' then, was my reply.

How could I tell, over the phone, if she mouthed it? - I heard it. Just the movement of the tongue. a vestige of sound - but it was quite clear to me.
Grand daughter was then told how mothers knew everything, and Granny's are inscrutable
:-D :-D

I used to really freak the girls out when they were small. I'd occasionally doze on the sofa. They'd be playing quietly nearby. At the first hint of an argument, I would (while still asleep) tell them to stop and behave.
They did!.
I call it the 'mother's sleep' - where everything is relaxed but your ears.
When necessary (in order not to disturb the doze mode) the mouth comes into action of it's own accord :-D
