Spring is definitely on the way

Our garden has lots of flowering impatiens :-) Quite striking in all the green jungle.

We've never planted impatiens

I blame the wind & birds' bums :-D

Where I used to work, there was a huge eucalyptus tree that was sick, it was ready to fall down, so the tree experts were called.

My boss got up in the cherry picker...... some of us were watching...... we heard a scream, saw arms waving & fur flying..........

There was a mummy possum with her babies in the tree....... eejit boss thought he'd pick them up! Off to the doctor, stitches, bandages, tetanus shots etc etc

Over the next week or so, boss got lots of cards with pics of possums, including one from the personnel officer. :-D

I mentioned orchids earlier.... I forgot to say that two of my four "moth" orchids are in bloom. They are gorgeous.

Only had one possum here at home; a little feisty b*gger.

No way would I pat one unless I was wearing leather gauntlets :-|

We have no snails at all, thanks to the water dragons :-D Definitely not cuddly. We haven't seen any yet, they're probably still hiding under the house, waiting for a warm day..... definitely not today, it poured with rain all day, hardly got above 15C. brrrrrrrrr

I know spring is on the way, because most of our orchids have buds :-D if they all open, they should look wonderful.

Koalas, possums etc are cute, but don't try to cuddle a possum! See my recent thread about koalas and the noise they make.

~~~~~ to Sue
Mersey, our back garden has been snail-free for a few years thanks to our bobtails.
The problem is that they enjoy the same foods as we do, but at the plant's younger stage.
We wondered why, when we planted French Beans, the damn things germinated, but never survived. Now we know :-|
Overall, if we protect the seedlings, we have no problems.
As for the lizards, they are cute, but not cuddly, and we can tell each family group from the markings on their heads :-D
in the Southern Hemisphere.
Yesterday, when we looked in the back garden, there were two bob tail lizards in a raised garden bed near the back door.
Fed them some left-over tomato, which they consumed with relish (gusto, not sauce :-P :-D)
Then two more, larger ones, appeared. OH went to the front garden and found some snails for them.
At that juncture, I went inside. The sound made by a bobtail when crunching on a snail is like something from a horror film :-0
The bobtails love them (snails) and whilst they will eat a tomato communally, when it comes to snails, each will pick one up and scurry away with it so that the other bobtails can't take it off them :-S
