Just a bit of info I have just found that may be of use to others..

I have been helping...nagging if you like......this blind friend of mine in getting some help with his paperwork which has got out of hand, and he hasn't done anything about it ,but then got worried when his energy bills were ridiculously high.
I and his cleaner have had a go,but it really isn't up to us.

His wife died 2 years ago,he is totally blind and diabetic ,lives in a big house with his diabetic little dog,and copes quite well considering .

Today I asked him if he had got in touch with anyone.Hed talked to social services, but nothing has happened,,so today,as he can't dial long numbers I've spent all morning on my phone and being put through to all sorts of departments of Age UK.

Now when you ring them ,their spiel is that they are a combination of Age concern and Help the Aged and I asked for the local office for his area...and they said there isn't one and gave me DIAL network...another charity.

However I went on the net and got Age Concern.So....some of their areas didn't amalgamate.so it wasn't a total takeover as I thought and was led to believe by the first phone calls.
I then dialed the local office...through straight away and they're on to it and think they can help...so if you need to call and don't get satisfaction, look up if there is an Age Concern in your area as Age UK won't tell you.

I have no faith in Age UK.
Last year I took out Car Insurance and I was told the policy conditions but when the policy arrived the conditions were different and they would not change them.
My insurance is due for renewal next month and will I be going back to AGE UK? NO, NO ,NO.
