Sue - I think it was the early fifties when I was quite a young child (I'm clearly of an age with your mother!). It was the deep voiced Hermione Gingold who used to say "Teee - Edmond?" in her best "Lady Bracknell" type of voice. That much I remember, the rest I had to google. Apparently the programme was called Home At Eight and this bit was a sort of skit on Mrs Dale's Diary.

What about the radio programme (possibly forties or fifties?) that my mother used to tell me about (no, really she did!) where the menacing voice of an older posh man used to enquire in a deep tone:

"Teeeeea . . . Edmund?"
"Miiiiiill-uck?"
"See-yoo-gar?"

Could even have been thirties, if my mother remembered it from her childhood . . .

Many many years ago, there was a radio program, can't recall the name of this, but someone used to say " I won't take me coat off, I'm note stopping".....this was said in a Yorkshire accent-I think. Does anyone reconize this? Another 'memory' is " A good idea-son" was this from educating Archie?
