Power Hoops

I have trouble keep up a hollow plastic hoop.

I'd end up with bruised feet & ankles if I used a 4lb one.

A hoop would probably tear my jinglyjangly belly dancing belt to bits

:-D

Standard Power Hoops weigh 4lbs !

Surely using a hula hoop is sufficient excercise and, as Scozz says - belly dancing.
Using something that causes bruising is not good. It sounds like a moneymaking fad to me. :-|

I used to play with a hoop & stick in the 1950s!

I kept rolling it onto the street......... that's why it "disappeared", my dad probably buried it :-(

GlasgowLass...... tell your daughter to try belly dancing....... similar exercises, but no bruising!

Yes, I've done belly dancing! It's great fun. My hip won't let me do it now :-(

I can remember as a little kid back in the late 40s we used to use old bicycle wheel rims. "Oh happy childhood days" :-D

The "Hoop and stick goes back many centuries amongst quite a few different cultures.
Wouldn't` it be fun to have it revived and made a sporting event at the Olympics.

"Hoop and Stick" marathon anyone? :-D :-D

I think they have metal weights?

I did a google search and there are loads of images of others sporting identical bruises!
My youngest insists that there is a technique that she hasn't quite mastered yet, which is why she wants to continue with the class???

It sounds dangerous!

What is it? Concrete stuffed Hula Hoops?

Exercise - or torture? :-S

Has anyone tried this form of exercise?
I have watched a class involving these hoops but I hadn't actually realised that they are weighted?

My daughter decided to try out a class on Wednesday evening
Yesterday ( Thursday) her muscles ached so much that she could hardly walk.

Today (Friday) she has developed huge purple bruises just above her hips ... on both sides of her body... but she is determined to go again!
