Nice to know there are still some very kind people out there who are willing to help strangers.

I´m pretty sure there will be some info about him because he was apparently one of the first 6 people to be killed at Mons (whether from the school or just generally I don´t know)

There's a chance that there will be an entry in the school log book.

He´s even given me the contact details of the coordinator at the school.
She is apparently on holiday at the moment, but will be able to fill me in with the details of my uncle´s time there.
Makes such a change from the people who refuse to make contact, but as Mr Magoo says......That´s the sort of people we are. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Touching and so kind. Bet he was pleased that you were so appreatiative (spl) too.

I hope that his grandchildren (and the school) realise what hard work all this has entailed.

Recieved a pm yesterday from someone on Ancestry concerning my grandmother´s brother who was killed in the 1st week of WW1.
I have searched without success to find info about this man from being orphaned in 1907 to his death in 1914.
The person who contacted me is doing a project on pupils from his grandchildrens school who died in WW1.
Turns out that my g uncle had been a pupil at the school from 1907 & subsequently joined the regular army.
This totally unknown person sent me all the details, including details of the battle in which my uncle died.
Such kindness from a total stranger.
