Incorrect Records on Genes site.

I have recently returned to the site and have looked up my great grand parents married record in 1882. For me this is incorrect information because I have a copy from my local records office of their certificate. Whoever put the records on this site have mixed up two marriages. This can be very misleading. |

If you have looked up the marriage on this or any site.... Pre 1911 marriages will not be paired up.....normally 4 to a page in alphabetical order |

Thanks for your replies. Freebmd.org.uk took me to Ancestry where I got my original result from years ago. This is when I went to the records office for a copy of the certificate. My great grandfather's gives me two other names but neither is the correct one. My great grandmother's according to Genes seems to be a definite as the layout is like the ones after 1912, eg MaryAnn married a Mr Samuel but in reality he married an Eliza. This is the other marriage record on my copy. |

Gilda, if you are saying freebmd took you to Ancestry , then I think you may have clicked on the Ancestry advert at the top of the freebmd page, rather thna scrolling down to the freebmd search boxes? ( I did that when I first started out) , |

I will scan my copy of certificate and e-mail it to support. Jax, yes when I originally searched on another site, it did give me the four names. This is where Gene's have muddled things up. |

Gilda if you scroll down on the Freebmd page , and don't click at the top, you will get to the search. It's free so will save you some credits in the future perhaps :-) |
