Today, September 1st is also Labour Day in Canada and the US...... it's always on the first Monday in September



so


Happy Wattle Day


and Happy Labour Day



it marks the end of summer for us ................ all schools, colleges and universities that are not already back for the new school year will return tomorrow, the day after Labour Day


It's as early as it can be this year

I overlook a junior school playground, Sylvia, so the little darlings will awaken me making their happy noises starting at 7.45 am - and throughout the day.
Another six weeks and it is Thanksgiving, can you believe.
How fast this year has flown by!

Our playgrounds in this province will be silent :-)


The teachers have been on strike since June because their employer (the government) locked them out :-S



figure that one out :-)


major barrier in 18 months of negotiations is the fact that the teachers want smaller class sizes and a limit on the number of special needs children in the class. Government wants large class size, and no limit on the special needs.
