Jam or cream?

Just had homemade scones sitting in the garden with friends. The question arose, do you put jam or cream on scone first. We both put jam first then cream the other two put cream then jam. Its all a bit confusing. :-S

I love scones :-D :-D cut in half, spread with butter, then jam and topped with lots of clotted cream :-D :-D :-D :-D

We have just butter on cheese scones , also made some delicious cherry scones had these with just butter, but it's butter, jam and cream on the others.

It has to be thick Strawberry Jam on first and then a massive dollop of good old Clotted Cream :-D. :-D

As Shirley topped with half a strawberry on each half, must be salted butter and whipped double cream!!
