Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 5 Sep 2014 16:18

We lost our dear brother Alan aged 68 last Sunday am

He was very much a family man for his own family and his siblings

He had been on chemo for pancreatic cancer that had done a secondary to two small tumors in his liver

He had been doing very well until he had a fall at home about 8 weeks ago and hurt his head and one leg . he then had enormous problems with swollen legs.

Last Tuesday his oncologist at Guys Hospital London said his cancers were contained so he wanted to stop the chemo and MRI scan him in sept to see how things were

Sadly after that appointment he went from feeling off colour to having breathing problems on Sat that led to being admitted to hospital and he passed away 3.30am on Sunday

its a big blow for his siblings and their families as we are a tight knit family .but for his wife and son its devastating

he died of pneumonia with the connection to his cancer. Chemo does knock out the immune system so they have no combat to fight any new infection

RIP my dearest youngest brother Alan .12th Sept 1945 - 31 Aug 2014
