Having read this post am bewildered - not bothered just bewildered.

I just didn't bother when I saw the closed sign, weird!

When I saw CLOSED on his thread I took it that he didn't want anyone to post on it...

Strange man...

Has 'chat' changed it's meaning?

Well nobody owns any threads on GR, people can post where they like as long as it's within Ts & Cs.

As for a closed sign on a thread? Weird.

I replied to Bill before Dizzi yesterday and told him
that I was not deaf as his closed was in capitals which
I find rude not unless you have a valid reason for writing
in capitals.
Told him I would not be adding to his thread again due to his closed sign and
wasn't interested in time limits.
I also found his thread boring due to the fact that he did not
like the idea of others chatting to one another, which to
my up bringing is also rude not to acknowledge others on the thread,
it's like entering a room full of people, ignore them all and
just speak to one person.

I think there is lots of confusion and again one of those situations when something was read maybe in the wrong way, context or seen to be different than what it was....which we have all done from time to time.......

ah right , I noticed that he has been a bit abrupt in the the way he has spoken to a few people re wanting to have his thread remain closed' while he's not around .But if he prefers to delete all his posts everyday it's his choice of course.

I hope he does explain, he seems to have upset Dizzi. :-(

Bill was saying he was doing a daily thread like mine instead of his usual thread that carrys on.....BUT would be deleting it each day at midnight UK time....

Best wait for Bill to get back to explain properly.......

I wonder if Bill being an oldie was used to the old chat, which is a bit before my time but have seen old examples where it was indeed 'Named persons thread' and not 'active' while they were away?

The way l read Dizzi's message is:

No one from UK can post on Bills thread when he's not there, as in during our day time, whilst he's asleep......how strange!!

He didn't say no one from the UK could post, did he? GR make the rules not members. People can post wherever they want.

IT SEEMED BILL'S THREAD WAS HIS WHEN HES OUT ITS CLOSED AN NOT TO POST ON IT,UK POSTS DELETED WHEN AUS WAKES UP,IF YOU UNDERSTAND THAT,,I TRIED TO BE POLITE AND SAY ITS NOT THE WAY TO DO IT (OH MY GAWD HEARD PUNCH OF P AND JUDYS VOICE THEN),I HATE P&J GIVE ME SHIVERS,,ANYWAY TOLD BILL WOULDNT POST ON HIS THREAD IF HES ZAPPING IT WHEN HE LIKES.
