I can understand that frustration leads to terrorism and can see, up to a point, how the IRA were led to commit their atrocities. A gentle people unfairly oppressed for centuries.

If my country was over-run with uninvited Afghan troop I should be doing all I could to get rid of them and if it meant setting booby- traps I might well condone that..

To gain whatever you are after by terrorism you understand that maybe some of your own will be hurt or severely disadvantaged.

So, how the hell does killing somebody who is doing their best to aid those of your own who are suffering aid your cause?

I believe there are people still suffering in Pakistan who were affected by severe floods not very long after 9/11. People were loathe to put their hands in their pockets to help Muslims, who had had no part in the atrocity and may not even have known it happened.
