My daughter applied for a job in TV last year doing subtitling

It was done manually and keyboard speed/ accuracy was essential.
She quickly realised that her spelling was not as good as it could have been.
Although she could see her errors, she did not have the opportunity or time to correct them.

This job was definitely not for her!

My dentist has a tv above the chair........ with subtitles, so you can watch tv while having your teeth worked on....... is it supposed to take your mind off it?

I believe the sub-titles are done by a computer, voice recognition or something........... and some of the sub-titles are hilarious..... my dentist has had to stop working because I've burst out laughing.

standing in a queue in the bank, I was watching the TV with predictive text - it was at the time when there were long delays in Gibraltar passport check-in points - up came the sentence - Jews are being injured - which of course should have been - queues are being endured :-D

Some converted to text messages are ridiculous.

:-D

I'm now wondering what songs your daughters sang...... the mind boggles.

When my 3 "very grown up" girls get bored:-D :-D :-D they devised a game to play on their phones using SIRI.

Each in turn asks SIRI to send a text to a sister.
Instead of speaking, they sing a well known song
They then send the texts to teach other who have to guess the song based on SIRI's mad intertpretation.

It's hysterical!

Please leave a 10 second message and it will be converted to text.

:-D

The usual blurb......

That's what a friend heard when he 'phoned my DH this morning, to ask for help removing a grevillea that blew down in the storm yesterday. (A grevillea is a native Australian plant).

What did the text message say?

Hi, can you help me with the dead gorilla in my garden?

:-D :-D :-D
