Well only little in stature cos he is 14 but looks about 10 years old because he was born with a faulty gene

He is my SIL boy from a previous relationship but our daughter and SIL got custody of him when he was about 6 because there was concerns by S Services etc on his mums ability to look after him

He is a handful. goes to a special school. but can at times have the most horrendous outbursts when he cant get his own way

He is a whizz on the computer so loves coming to stay with us cos I allow him to use my PC and printer which he does to the excess

I was known as nanny with cat to distinguish me from the other grandparents although we are grt grandparents too .

When we told him that Mirabelle our little sweety was very poorly and were honest when he asked if she was going to die he told our daughter when mirabelle died i wouldnt be nanny with cat but nanny with printer!!

On Monday daughter took him for one of his many hospital appointments and they were given the results of his latest tests, as daughter thought all along but got put down by many pediatricians he does now come up as autistic.

She said that all along

He is classed as top of the scale of the medium level of autism

He is who he is no matter what but hopefully his diagnosis will open doors to help that may be available for him

He is underdeveloped too for his age and not yet gone into puberty so they are thinking of giving him a growth hormone boost to get him to grow a bit and develope.

The hospital has said on top of everything else he doesnt need to targeted by bullies later in life for his height


We love him and only want the best for him for the future

Ann he really is cos this family will do everything they can to help him

sadly although his mum loves him she cant cope with him . doesn't stop her though from blaming everyone else for taking her son!

Very complicated background BUT the lad and his future is the most important way to go

Obviously a very special boy who will bring much love and joy to you all as well as being very challenging but you will cope and pull together to make sure that he is supported and encouraged every step of the way. Good Luck, you are all doing an amazing and worthwhile job in helping him each day to live a good quality if life.

What a loving family this young boy has. That is all he needs all that love he is getting. xx

People like him are like a present that has been better wrapped than usual.

You just have to work a bit harder to bring out the lovely things inside.

As for the puberty bit. Does he really need it? Will it be any use to him?
