I went to see my Sister in law this afternoon to chat with the vicar who is going to take my brothers funeral on the 1st Oct

Our brother died on the 31st Aug but its taken a long time to get things organised for one reason or another.

Alan is being cremated at Eltham Crematorium

What a lovely man the vicar was. he asked so many questions about Alan and his life and how SIL wanted things to be mentioned in his address etc . He was really interested in the family as a whole and wanted the service to be very special and family orientated.

I was really impressed with the mans genuine involvement

That's nice Shirley. I do think funerals are very different now and more about the person and his life and family. So sorry to hear about your brother xx

A lot better than the vicar asking questions outside the church just before the ceremony

Thank you Ann

Alan had cancer and had being do well on chemo but sadly he wasnt able to fight pneumonia when it set in

A big blow to his family as he was the youngest brother and a loving family man

Any family loss hits a family hard

Thanks Glitter Baby our posts crossed

The man was so nice and on first name basis and he made Alans wife feel so assured that Alan would get a lovely personal farewell
