Those little rubber attachments were to direct the water to where people wanted the water to go either straight into a bowl of hot water or to clean the soap suds from the sides of the sink.

I have still got one but don't use it any more.

Can anyone tell me why back in days gone by did people fit a small rubber attachment/hose to the kitchen tap?

Googles but cant find anything
