Serves you right. As I usually point out, you only have one birthday, the rest are anniversaries.

ATTITUDE

82 nd anniversary of my birth today,
('About 28' if you will);
Tired; widowed; somewhat lonely,
And on the wrong side of the hill.

A villager in darkest Africa,
Shared his hut with a dozen hens;
Intolerable he told the wise man,
My sanity on you depends.

Borrow an elephant was his advice,
And move that in as well;
He complied, and things were hopeless,
Please free me from this hell.

Now get rid of your biggest problem,
And then you'll quickly see;
The new perspective different,
How much worse your life could be.

My own circumstance has its troubles,
Wrapped up small to ward off gloom;
And happily at the time of writing,
No elephant in the room.
