Or is this a one off?

OH and I love to go to a tiny cinema ( 2 sceens only) in Glasgow's west end

The theatre seating consists of very large leather armchairs separated by little built in tables
They sell alcohol and even have a trendy bar/diner attached.
There is no problem taking drinks/glasses/bottles into the theatre either

The entire rear wall in the tiny cinema is taken up by 3 large, 2/3 seater sofas
The sofas even have cushions and throws.
We booked one of these to watch the film.....What We Did On Our Holiday.

It was like being in our own living room. ( shoes off, feet up with a bottle of beer )

The only thing missing was the remote control!

I don't enjoy watching films and hate the cinema but I think I would like to go to that one, as long as I didn't have to watch a film!

We have them in Oz.

They have wait staff....... bring your food & drink :-D

We've been a couple of times, but found the smell of pizza distracting :-D

There are at least 2 like this in London, one I know is in Camden.

Very chic, and quite expensive

Showcase cinemas have something similar, called The Gallery.

Basically they are larger double seats at the back of the small cinema with fixed tables on the arms. Ther is more leg room than the usual rows. A drink, chocolates and nibbles are include in the price which is about double the usual ticket price.
There is a dedicated bar outside where you can buy extra drinks - not sure if there is service in the cinema.

I admit that it is a bit pricey and we don't go very often.
I think OH paid around £30 for two of us

A few cinemas in Oz have "Gold Class", a small theatre in the complex, usually 4-8 theatres. Each small theatre is usually at least 20 seats, up to 120.

Current cost of a gift card......... $Aus49, two movie tickets, 1 large popcorn, 2 large drinks & 2 choc-ices. When we went, we could get alcohol, small pizzas, all sorts of snacks.

The Gold Class is the Village Cinemas, no idea what the others call theirs.

Double seat in the back row might be handy.

There used to be double seats in the back row of all the cinemas back in the 50s :-)

These are interesting cinemas - especially the ones with beds:

Great. I would love to go to some of those if I didn't have to watch a film!
