Ladybirds bite too - and the Harlequin ladybirds - imported as an 'eco-frienfly' solution to greenhouse aphids, that have now escaped and are killing our native species - bite even more :-S |

We had a problem when we went on holiday in August when a spider set off the house alarm at ten to 5 in the morning. Our neighbour phoned my son as he has a key, but just as he was calling for a cab to bring him here, she phoned back and said the alarm had stopped and all looked secure so not to worry. He went up later that day and couldn't see anything wrong so reset the alarm. This time when we went away we left a key with neighbour, o.h. had been funny about doing this before, didn't like to think of her coming in and snooping! Anyway before we left we continously put outside those big house spiders that run across the carpet at night and sprayed spider repellant around every sensor. When we got back, the alarm hadn't gone off but it was all lit up and o.h. can't reset it, and can't find out what's happened. |

Spiders are interesting and attractive creatures which have survived through aeons. Some make attractive webs, beautiful with a winter frost. |

Having watched people on tv being 'cured' of their phobias - I have always decided I am content to keep my phobia - started by brother dropping spiders on me. |
