Sinking of HMS Royal Oak on this day in 1939

Today I am thinking of the families and friends, of the 810 members of the crew, of the Royal Navy battleship, HMS Royal Oak which was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine while it was anchored at Scapa Flow, just shortly after the start of the Second World War - HMS Royal Oak was sunk In the first weeks of the war in the early hours of 14 October 1939

May all those who lost their lives be resting in peace <3 including the Uncle I never got the chance to know, my Aunt Betty's husband Archibald Quigley - they had been married for about 12 months :-(
