Today I am thinking of the families and friends, of the 810 members of the crew, of the Royal Navy battleship, HMS Royal Oak which was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine while it was anchored at Scapa Flow, just shortly after the start of the Second World War - HMS Royal Oak was sunk In the first weeks of the war in the early hours of 14 October 1939 |
