Hello Uzz, hello everyone

I have posted on this thread because it came up when I did a search on Genes Reunited for 'scam'.

What I am posting about today is this: there is a new website recommended by my internet service provider (isp). It's called thinkjessica.com.

Their 'strapline' is as follows:

'Protecting elderly & vulnerable people from scams which come through the postal system and criminals who contact them by telephone'.

[Who are you calling old, big nose :-P] ;-) ;-)

There are some shocking stories on there but also some very useful information.

Heads Up On Holiday-Season Computer Virus

UPS/Fed Ex/USPS

________________________________________

Feel this worth passing along. With the holidays coming up, I can see where this could be a real problem.

The newest virus circulating is the UPS/Fed Ex/USPS Delivery Failure.

You will receive an e-mail from UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS along with a packet number.

It will say that they were unable to deliver a package sent to you on such-and-such a date.

It then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached.

DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS!

Pass this warning on to all your PC operators at work and home.

This virus has caused Millions of dollars in damage in the past few days.

Snopes confirms that it is real.

I have recently had a variation on the invoice one. Have deleted it so can't be precise about the details - from someone unlikely like UK Geology, started " here is the invoice as requested..."
